Here are a smattering of corporate portraits and Denver headshots I’ve done since my last post. These include Colorado President of Key Bank, Tom Spilman; Denver Mayor Michael Hancock’s Chief of Staff, Janice Sinden, and other prominent Denver business people who understand the value of a quality headshot. Most are photographed on location with my portable studio while some are taken in my home studio. Check them out and let me know what you think!

We photographed headshots and group portraits at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney a few weeks ago and it all went so smoothly. We went right to their office, set up our portable studio, photographed stunning images of their advisors and they received retouched, consistent headshots for all of their marketing materials. Makeup artist Cindy Keske did touch-ups to give the advisors a fresh, polished look for their updated headshots. Here are some examples from the shoot:

Stephan didn’t want a typical headshot. He wanted something different – on location, in his normal suit and tie and in an environment he was in tune with. He works in financial relations, providing solutions to small businesses and individuals. He’s writing a cookbook and is a boxer, too. We had fun going to the seedier side of town adding some texture, color and interest. Here are some of the highlights.

I was given the opportunity to photograph Tonya’s beautiful family this past weekend. The children get along great which really helped the portrait session go smoothly. The little girl has the cutest little freckly smile. The little boy wasn’t so sure about the whole photo gig until after he had a snack and played with his toys. We included their most sweetest golden retriever puppy Charlie, of course! He’s a giant puppy with an equally big personality. The day was a bit chilly, so we opted for the indoors with a couple of exceptions where we showed some crispy, backyard fall colors.

With the increased use of online marketing, social networking and e-mail follow up, it really makes sense to present yourself professionally on the Web. This includes a strong website and logo paired with a quality, polished headshot. All three components represent your business’ image.

Your headshot should tie into your brand, your image and your mission.

People buy from those they know, like and trust. You want to look friendly, professional and trustworthy. Headshots personalize your business and can take you a step ahead of your competition.

Real estate agents are not the only professionals these days that are using their headshot on their business card, website, social networking sites and in their e-mail signatures.

In Florida for the Tri County Humane Society’s Annual Fundraiser – The Doggie Ball

Sheba was adopted from Tri County Humane Society.

Lucy and Bruiser were both adopted from Tri County Humane Society.

The awesome live auction items were a big hit at last year's well-attended Tri County Humane Society Annual Fundraiser.

Here I am with my favorites after a walk, sisters Alice & Amanda, rescued by Tri County Humane Society.

The Tri County Humane Society’s 8th annual fundraiser dinner and dancing event in Boca Raton, Florida is coming up on March 21, 2010 – the Doggie Ball. All proceeds from the dinner, live and silent auctions go to help the thousands of abandoned, abused and homeless animals they rescue every year.

I flew into Fort Lauderdale, Florida last night from Denver and am photographing it this year for the second time.

I started volunteering at Tri County walking dogs a few years ago. They run a clean, friendly, no-kill animal shelter for dogs, cats and the occasional rabbit or guinea pig. I let them know I was a photographer and willing to lend my skills should they need professional photographs. My first gig was photographing dogs with Santa! That turned out to be quite humorous. Then I joined the fundraising committee and was on a team that helped raise major money for the shelter and the animals. It’s all about the animals. I’m a big animal lover, especially dogs. Anybody who knows me, will tell you how I visit with every dog I pass on the sidewalk, in the park, wherever. I’m drawn to them and they recognize a friend when they see one. My second photo gig was photographing the fundraiser event itself last March 2009. I’m back now for the second year. I’m really looking forward to seeing the dogs and taking them out for walks once again.

It’s nice to be back.
